Coal is combustible black sedimentart rock normally occurring in rock strata in layers called
coal beds. Coal is composed of carbon along with other elements, sulfur, hydrogen, oxygen
and nitrogen. Some types of coal are: peat, lignite, sub-bituminous, bituminous, steam coal
anthracite, and graphite. Coal is mostly used as a solid fuel to produce electricity and heat through combustion.
